How deep is an Omnitub deep bath?

Omnitubs are designed around true deep soaking — far deeper than most other baths.

Non-seated Omnitubs:

  • 600mm internal depth (60cm / ~23.6 inches)
  • With an overflow installed: 525mm soaking depth (52.5cm / ~20.7 inches)

Seated Omnitubs:

  • 1000mm internal depth (100cm / ~39.4 inches)
  • With an overflow installed: 975mm soaking depth (97.5cm / ~38.4 inches)

To put that into perspective, most standard baths only allow around 300–400mm of water depth. An Omnitub gives you the ability to fully immerse your shoulders, chest and body — rather than lying half in and half out of the water.

The seated range goes even further. At close to 1 metre deep, it’s a completely different experience — more like stepping down into the tub and soaking upright, rather than lying back in a shallow bath.

Unlike traditional curved designs, Omnitubs are built with clean, square sides and a flat base. That means the edges are clear and defined, making it easier to position yourself, safer to bathe in, and more straightforward to get in and out.

That depth — combined with the shape — is what defines an Omnitub.

Does the deep bath come with feet?

Yes — all non-seated Omnitub deep bathtubs ship with a feet kit included. The feet come in two parts: the first part is pre-fitted into the base of the tub before shipping, and the second part is hand-screwed in once the bath is in its final installation position. We separate the feet during transit so the bathtubs are easier to manoeuvre through doorways and around the property.

Seated Omnitub deep bathtubs do not include feet — you install your own supporting structure for these. In either case, all of the bathtub's weight must be taken through the base.

Do I have to use the feet provided to raise the height of the Omnitub?

No — the feet are optional. Installed height varies widely across our customers, so you're free to choose what works best for your space. For example, some customers install their Omnitub at 800mm floor-to-rim for a particular design preference, and others at 900mm to align with a basin install. You can build your own sub-base in timber (or another solid material), or in some cases install the tub directly at floor level. See our FAQ “How do I install an Omnitub without the feet?” for the technical details.

Will an Omnitub fit through my door?

In many cases, yes — but it depends on which Omnitub you’re choosing.

Non-seated Omnitubs can normally be turned on their side for access. When turned, the key measurement becomes 625mm, so as a general guide you want a doorway opening of at least 630mm to allow the tub through safely.

Seated Omnitubs work differently. Because of the shape and proportions, the smallest measurement is the actual width of the tub itself. So the doorway opening you need depends on the width of the tub you’ve chosen:

  • 600mm wide seated tub → minimum opening around 600mm
  • 700mm wide seated tub → minimum opening around 700mm
  • 800mm wide seated tub → minimum opening around 800mm

In simple terms:

  • Non-seated tubs: usually need around 630mm clear opening (because they can be turned on their side)
  • Seated tubs: need a clear opening based on the actual tub width

As a rough guide, a standard internal door in the UK is usually around 720mm to 750mm wide, so many non-seated tubs will go through without issue. Seated tubs depend entirely on the width selected and the true clear opening available on site.

It’s also worth remembering that the clear opening matters more than the door leaf size itself. Door frames, skirting, tight turns, bannisters, radiators, and hallway restrictions can all affect access.

If there’s any doubt at all, measure the narrowest point on the full access route — not just the bathroom door.

Do I need a step to get into an Omnitub?

In most cases, no — a step isn’t required.

Non-seated Omnitubs are designed to be easy to access. Despite the depth, the straight sides and flat base make it simple to step in and out. To give real-world context, even young children (around 5 years old) are typically able to get in and out comfortably without any step.

That said, some customers choose to add a step — not out of necessity, but because it can enhance the overall look and feel of the space.

Seated Omnitubs are different. With an internal depth of 1000mm (100cm / ~39.4 inches), they are significantly deeper and designed for upright soaking. Because of this, a step or raised platform is required to access them safely and comfortably.

In short:

  • Non-seated tubs: No step needed (optional for design)
  • Seated tubs: Step required due to the depth

It really comes down to the style of Omnitub you choose and how you want the space to feel.

What is an Omnitub deep bath made from?

Every Omnitub is built by hand in Somerset using a structured, layered build process.

At its core, each tub is made up of a standard 7-layer construction:

  • 3 layers of surface finish – creating a smooth, durable, waterproof interior that holds its look over time
  • 3 layers of reinforced structure – built up with strengthening material and bonded together to form a solid, rigid shell
  • A structural boarding layer – adding stiffness, support, and long-term stability across the entire tub

These layers are built up by hand, one by one, to create a tub that feels solid, holds heat efficiently, and is designed to perform for decades.

This construction is what allows an Omnitub to be used indoors or outdoors, for hot soaking or cold plunging, without compromise.

Every tub is made to order (in any colour you choose), and because of how they’re built, each one is backed by a 30-year warranty for complete peace of mind.

Omnitub Overflows

Do Omnitubs come with an overflow?

No — only the waste hole is pre-drilled as standard.

This is intentional, as it gives you full flexibility during installation.

Why isn’t the overflow pre-drilled?

Most Omnitubs can have the overflow positioned on any side, and in many cases up to three sides depending on the design. Because every installation is different, it’s far better to drill this on site once final positioning is confirmed.

How difficult is it?

It’s a very straightforward job — around 1/10 difficulty. All that’s required is:

  • A standard hole saw (typically 51mm–52mm)
  • A drill
  • Basic care and marking

That’s it.

Where do you drill it?

On non-seated Omnitubs, the bottom of the overflow hole is typically positioned at 525mm from the base (52.5cm / ~20.7 inches), which leaves 25mm (2.5cm / ~1 inch) to the top edge.

Once marked, you simply drill the hole with the hole saw and fit your overflow.

In simple terms:

  • Waste hole: pre-drilled
  • Overflow: drilled on site
  • Position: flexible
  • Difficulty: very easy

It’s designed this way so your installer can place everything exactly where it works best for your layout.

Does an Omnitub come with an overflow kit?

No — overflow kits are not included as standard.

All Omnitubs come with the waste hole pre-drilled, but the overflow kit itself is supplied separately.

Why isn’t it included?

Every installation is different — from layout, pipe runs, finishes, and personal preference. Because of that, we don’t automatically add an overflow kit to every order.

What should you do?

You have two options:

  • Buy one of our overflow kits — all options are available directly from us and are selected to work perfectly with Omnitubs
  • Use your own kit — you’re not restricted to ours, as long as it’s a standard fit

Can I buy my own overflow kit?

Yes — you’re absolutely fine to source your own overflow kit.

However, there are a couple of important things to consider to make sure everything works correctly.

What you need to check

  • Pipe length: The distance from the overflow position down to the waste outlet is greater than on a standard bath. Your kit needs to be long enough to comfortably reach between the two.
  • Waterless trap (important): You should use a waterless trap, not a traditional trap. This avoids issues with water seals, odours, and performance — especially given the depth of the tub.

When to consider our kits

While you can use your own, if you’re unsure on sizing or compatibility, it’s strongly recommended to use one of our waste and trap kits. They’re selected specifically for Omnitubs, so everything fits and works as it should without guesswork.

It ultimately comes down to your installer, but getting this part right avoids problems later.

Omnitub Waste Holes

Does an Omnitub come with a waste hole?

Yes — all Omnitubs come with the waste hole pre-drilled as standard.

The exact position of the waste is shown clearly in the product imagery on each product page, so you and your installer can plan accordingly before ordering.

Can the waste hole be moved?

No — the waste position is fixed on standard tubs. Changing the location would require a completely bespoke mould, which is a separate process. If you need something different, you can explore this via our bespoke options.

Can you supply the tub without a waste hole?

Yes — this is available on request. We can supply the tub undrilled, which is often used in more specialist setups, such as:

  • Water recirculation systems
  • Filtration or pump-based installations
  • Custom drainage layouts

In simple terms:

  • Waste hole: pre-drilled as standard
  • Location: shown on product pages
  • Changes: only possible via bespoke mould

What is the size of the waste hole on an Omnitub?

Is this a standard size?

Yes — this is the standard size used on almost all Omnitubs. Realistically, 99.9% of customers use this size, as it works perfectly with standard bath waste fittings and installations.

When would a different size be needed?

A smaller waste hole is only typically required for more specialist setups, such as:

  • Recirculating systems
  • Pump extraction systems
  • Commercial or bespoke projects

This isn’t common for residential installs, but it’s something we can accommodate if needed.

Can it be changed?

Yes — but it must be requested before production.

How will my Omnitub arrive?

All Omnitubs are delivered kerbside and arrive securely palletised.

This means the delivery is made to the nearest accessible point outside your property, and you (or your installer) are responsible for moving the tub from the kerb to its final location.

UK delivery

  • Kerbside delivery as standard
  • 2-hour delivery window provided on the day
  • Deliveries are made Monday–Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)
  • Delivery times are typically between 09:00–17:00

International delivery

  • Kerbside delivery
  • Live tracking provided so you can follow the delivery on the day

Important on arrival

  • Your Omnitub will arrive on a pallet, fully protected for transport
  • Check the pallet before unwrapping for any visible damage

Will the driver help?

Drivers are not obligated to assist with moving the tub beyond kerbside delivery. However, in some cases they may help if asked — but this is entirely at their discretion and they can decline.

  • International: tracked delivery

What should I do if my order arrives and I am not available?

It’s important that someone is available to accept the delivery on the agreed day.

All deliveries are pre-booked or selected at checkout, so you’ll know exactly when your Omnitub is due to arrive. If no one is available, the delivery will be classed as a failed delivery.

What happens if delivery fails or is refused?

If a delivery cannot be completed due to:

  • No one being available
  • Access issues
  • The delivery being refused

Then:

  • A re-delivery charge will apply
  • This must be paid before the goods are released again

Re-delivery charges

  • Same address, different date: £60–£90 + VAT
  • Different address, same depot route: £90–£120 + VAT

Storage charges

If your Omnitub is held at the local depot following a failed delivery:

  • £6 per day (inc. VAT) storage charge applies

How do I install an Omnitub without the feet?

You can install your Omnitub directly on a timber sub-base, or any other solid, level platform set to your desired height. Some customers install at 900mm to align with a basin; others recess the tub at floor level where there is space below the floor for the waste and trap to run away.

One important consideration: the base of an Omnitub is not flat — it has a deliberate fall towards the waste hole for drainage. To install without feet, pack the lower end of the base with levelling packers (or a similar product) until the rim of the tub is level. The weight of the filled tub must still be supported fully through the base.

Can I install an Omnitub myself, or do I need a plumber?

Omnitubs should be installed by a qualified professional.

Why?

Installation involves several critical elements, including:

  • Waste and drainage connections
  • Proper base support and load distribution
  • Waterproofing and sealing
  • In some cases, electrical components

All of these need to be completed correctly to ensure the tub performs as intended long-term.

Can I install it myself?

Non-seated Omnitubs

Yes — taps can be fitted directly onto the tub.

Non-seated tubs have larger flanges (typically 75mm–100mm), which provide enough space to accommodate tap holes.

Your options include:

  • Deck-mounted taps (on the tub itself)
  • Wall-mounted taps
  • Floor-mounted taps
  • Ceiling-mounted fillers
  • Filling via the overflow

Seated Omnitubs

No — taps are not fitted directly onto the tub.

Seated tubs have a much smaller 25mm flange, which is not suitable for mounting taps.

Instead, they are designed to be used with:

  • Ceiling-mounted fillers
  • Filling via the overflow

Why the difference?

It comes down to the design:

  • Non-seated tubs: larger flanges → suitable for tap mounting

Does an Omnitub need any extra support underneath?

No — Omnitubs are designed to be fully self-supporting from the base.

Each Omnitub sits on a level, properly prepared floor and distributes its load evenly through the base. It does not require additional structural support underneath.

In a typical installation:

  • The tub sits directly onto the floor
  • The surrounding structure (boxing, panels, tiling, etc.) is built around it, not used to support it

Base, feet & access

  • Omnitubs can be installed directly onto the floor, or using feet if required by your installer
  • Your installer should allow space for the waste, trap, and pipework beneath the tub
  • This is standard for any bath installation

What about the weight?

Most Omnitubs are installed on first floors in standard homes without issue.

  • There are many baths on the market that weigh more empty than an Omnitub does when filled with water and a person inside

How do I care for and clean my Omnitub?

Looking after your Omnitub is simple. With the right approach, you’ll keep it looking sharp, hygienic, and performing exactly as it should for years to come.

How often should I clean it?

  • Deep clean: once a month

Regular cleaning helps prevent build-up and keeps everything fresh.

How to clean your Omnitub

  1. Clear the area and remove any items from the tub

  • Surrounded
  • Clad or panelled

The external finish is created using your installation, for example:

This allows you to match the outside of the tub perfectly to your space.
