Yes. Every Omnitub — deep bath, seated tub, plunge or whirlpool — is made for indoor or outdoor use, hot or cold, at home or in commercial use, and is made to live outdoors all year round. The colour runs through the Omnigel, so there is no paint to peel, and outdoors every waste and fitting we supply is 316 stainless steel.

Outside, a tub is usually set into a deck, a timber, brick or stone surround, or a raised platform — either contained within its own dimensions, or bordered, with the surround meeting the tub under the rim. The Omnigel shell carries the same 30-year warranty outside as it does in a bathroom.

It depends how you want to bathe. Seated tubs (1,000 mm deep, from 1100 × 600 mm) give a shoulder-deep, Japanese ofuro-style soak in the smallest footprint. The 1500 mm round and the multi-person tubs (1500 × 1500 and 1800 × 1800 mm) seat two or more. 600 mm-deep baths let you lie back and stretch out. The Sheer range, 700 mm wide, fits a narrow terrace or courtyard. Plunges (1195 × 825 mm at 1,200 mm deep, and a stepped 1000 × 1000 mm at 1,500 mm) are built for cold. Whirlpool versions add jets to the seated, round, multi-person and plunge shapes.

Set it on a level, solid base that can carry the tub, the water and the bathers. The tub itself is light — its net weight is on every product page — and the water is most of the load. OmniSoak works out how much water your tub takes at your fill height.

We are not able to give structural advice on an individual property. For a deck, a roof terrace or a raised platform, have a structural engineer check the design before you build.

Connect the waste to the foul drain through a trap, as you would indoors. A whirlpool needs its own RCD-protected circuit, installed by a registered electrician. Raised decking over 30 cm, or any work at a listed building, may need planning permission — check with your local planning authority.

An Omnitub is filled with hot water, not heated in the tub. Usually a plumber fits an outdoor hot and cold supply with a thermostatic mixer; otherwise, run a hose from an indoor mixer tap. We don't fit a bath filler to an outdoor tub.

A combi boiler heats water as it flows, so it keeps filling until the tub is full; a stored hot-water cylinder can run out before a deep tub is full. OmniSoak works out the fill time and hot water your tub needs from your boiler type. Off-grid sites often use a portable gas water heater.

If you fill with a hose, use an outside tap fitted with a double check valve and keep the end of the hose above the water.

An insulated outdoor bath has insulation built into its shell, so the water cools more slowly than it would in the same tub without it. On an Omnitub, insulation board is taped and bonded to the outside of the tub, over-laminated with further layers of glass and resin, rolled, then sealed with Omnicoat, so board and tub work as one sealed build. The top 100 mm of wall under the rim is left bare, so your installer has something to fix into.

Choose 25, 50, 75, 100, 120 or 150 mm — 50 mm is standard — for the base, walls and seat separately, or leave a surface bare. The inside of the tub doesn't change; the outer size grows only where the insulation is thicker than the rim's overhang, and a base layer adds its thickness to the height. The Drawing Room shows the finished size and the price as you choose. Insulation is optional — a fully insulated tub from £900, a single surface from £500 — and adds two weeks to the build. Most of the heat an open bath loses goes from the water's surface, so a lid between top-ups helps too.

Yes. Fill any Omnitub with cold water and it is a cold plunge. The seated tubs (1,000 mm deep) and the plunges (1,200 mm and 1,500 mm deep) are the usual choice, and insulation is recommended if the water will be kept cold for long spells.

For water held cold all the time, a chiller circulates and cools it. We drill the tub for the chiller and filtration pipework your installer specifies, and OmniSoak sizes the cooling a tub of your size needs. The same tub can be a hot soak on a different day.

Into the foul drain, through a trapped waste — the same as an indoor bath. Don't connect it to a rainwater (surface-water) drain: in the UK that is a misconnection, and the owner has to put it right.

Outdoors we supply 316 stainless wastes. The waste position and the tub's outer dimensions are on each product's drawing, so your installer can plan the run before the tub arrives.

No — we don't sell covers. A soaking tub is filled fresh for each soak and emptied afterwards, so unlike a hot tub it doesn't need a cover to keep the water clean. A tub held cold on a chiller is best covered between plunges.

A joiner can make a fitted timber lid to the tub's outer dimensions, which are on every product's drawing. Whatever you use, keep the tub empty or securely covered whenever children could reach it.

Yes — Omnitubs are already installed outside cabins, glamping sites and holiday lets across the UK. The 30-year warranty on the Omnigel shell applies in a holiday let exactly as it does at home.

A soaking tub is filled fresh for each guest and emptied afterwards, so no water is held between guests; a whirlpool's pipework needs its own regular cleaning routine. Choose one colour across the site, order one tub or ten, and send the spec for several through our multi-unit enquiry for a quantity price.

The Omnigel shell carries a 30-year warranty whether the tub is in a bathroom, a garden or outside a holiday cabin. Wastes and fittings carry 2 years and a whirlpool system 5 years, and your Consumer Rights Act rights apply on top.
